A retired teacher, Lisa Roberson, voiced her frustrations about today’s public school system. She emphasized the role of parents and their impact on education, saying, “The teachers are not the problem! Parents are the problem!” She pointed out that many students lack basic supplies, and teachers often have to provide them. Roberson questioned if parents attend school events, maintain communication with teachers, ensure their children have necessary materials, complete homework, and behave in class.
In her words, “When you look at these factors, you will see that it is not schools that are failing but the parents. Teachers cannot do their jobs and the parents’ job. Until parents step up and do their job, nothing is going to get better!” Many have applauded her candid letter for addressing a pressing issue in education.
