Matthew Perry death: ‘devastated’ stars remember Friends actor after apparent drowning

Matthew Perry, beloved for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends, tragically passed away at his Los Angeles home at the age of 54. Perry was found dead in an apparent drowning, and emergency services were called to his residence due to a “water emergency.”

Former colleagues and friends paid tribute to the talented actor. Maggie Wheeler, who portrayed Chandler’s girlfriend Janice, shared her blessings from the creative moments they shared. Morgan Fairchild, who played Chandler’s mother, expressed her heartbreak over the loss of a brilliant actor. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who knew Perry as a child, remembered the joy Perry brought to people worldwide.

Wendell Pierce, who co-starred with Perry in The Odd Couple, hoped for Perry’s peace, while Selma Blair mourned her “oldest boy friend.” Mira Sorvino, Paget Brewster, Meredith Salenger, George Takei, Tom Green, Piers Morgan, and Warner Bros Television Group all conveyed their sorrow and remembered Perry’s contributions to the entertainment world. NBC and the official Friends account also paid their respects.
