6-Year-Old Was Holding Father’s Hand When He Was Struck By Lightning, Family Shares Tragic Update

A tragic lightning strike in Texas claimed the lives of a father and his six-year-old son, Matthew and Grayson Boggs. The incident occurred as Matthew was picking up Grayson from the school bus near their Valley Mills home. Just moments before the strike, Matthew had expressed his love for his son.

Grayson, after the lightning strike, was placed on life support and later declared brain-injured due to oxygen deprivation. Despite initial signs of improvement, Grayson’s condition worsened, leading to the heartbreaking decision to remove life support. He passed away on June 16.

The incident left Grayson’s younger brother, Elijah, traumatized. Lightning strikes are unpredictable, especially in states like Texas, where they are more frequent. This serves as a reminder to stay informed and prepared to reduce such risks.
