A teen, Kayla Unbehaun, who vanished in 2017 and was a focus on Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries,” has been found safe in North Carolina. A Good Samaritan recognized her during a shopping trip, leading to her remarkable discovery after four years of mystery. Kayla’s mother, Heather Unbehaun, who had custody when she disappeared, has been arrested on a fugitive charge.

Kayla’s biological father, Ryan Iskerka, expressed immense joy and requested privacy as they reunite.

The case’s media exposure on “Unsolved Mysteries” in 2022 highlighted the power of raising awareness for missing persons, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance.
