RIP To These Heroes Who Died In This Tragic “Accident”

In a devastating incident on Monday morning, Baltimore firefighters faced tragedy when a derelict house they were battling a fire in collapsed, claiming three lives and injuring one. Lieutenant Paul Butrim, firefighter Kelsey Sadler, and EMT Kenny Lacayo lost their lives, while firefighter John McMaster remains critically injured.

Fire Chief Niles R. Ford confirmed the grim outcome, stating, “Today, Baltimore has lost three of the bravest among us. Baltimore owes them the deepest gratitude and respect.”

The injured firefighter, McMaster, is fighting for survival, with Dr. Thomas Scalea expressing uncertainty about his condition. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott emphasized the city’s gratitude, saying, “We have lost three of the bravest among us.”

The Baltimore City Fire Department, in a heartfelt tribute, posted a photo of the fallen heroes, urging prayers for their families. Investigations into the building’s collapse are ongoing, leaving the community in mourning. The tragedy highlights the dangers faced by firefighters, calling for support and remembrance during this difficult time.
