Prisoner Who Beat His Baby To Death Faces Brutal Punishment After Cellmate Discovers His Secret

Liam Deane, serving time for the brutal murder of his two-day-old daughter, Luna, was discovered dead in his prison cell after only a month. The accused assailant in Deane’s death is fellow inmate John Westland, suggesting a possible act of retribution. Deane’s admission to violently assaulting Luna stemmed from frustration with her incessant crying, leading to fatal injuries. Despite medical efforts, Luna succumbed to severe brain injuries three days later. Deane received a life sentence following a swift trial, with his lawyer emphasizing the inexplicable nature of his actions as entirely out of character.

During the court proceedings, a statement from Luna’s mother conveyed the lasting trauma of witnessing her on life support, expressing doubt that any sentence could adequately address the pain inflicted. While the exact connection between Deane and Westland remains unclear, it is evident that Westland’s actions were a brutal response to Deane’s heinous crime. Deane’s demise, though preventing further harm, cannot erase the profound tragedy of Luna’s senseless death.
