In response to the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel, which caused significant casualties and a massive call-up of reservists, a group of American cowboys, mainly from Montana, flew to Israel to assist farmers affected by the mobilization. John Plocher, one of the cowboys, explained on FOX Business’ Varney & Co. that they focused on Judea and Samaria, providing essential supplies to support local communities. Plocher emphasized the necessity of aid due to the manpower shortage resulting from the call-up.
The assistance included distributing bulletproof vests, night vision goggles, security drones, and basic supplies. Plocher highlighted the reciprocal learning experience, stating, “I think they’re teaching me. The people of Israel live. They are here in the land, it’s their land.”
Motivated by his Christian faith, Plocher expressed belief in Israel’s biblical connection, affirming, “I believe that this land was given to the Jewish people by God, and they have a right to this land.” In a separate interview, he acknowledged feeling a divine calling to be in Israel at that particular time.
