In Clearwater, Florida, Louise Ornduff and her son, Kalaeb, experienced a shocking twist during a scheduled meeting to sell their Nissan Rogue. Two armed individuals, Lasupta Singletary and Jernalen Dreshaw Coleman, intended to steal the car instead. When demanded at gunpoint, Kalaeb handed over the keys to avoid risking his life.

As the carjackers fled, Ornduff, fearing for their safety, fired a single shot, inadvertently hitting Singletary. Coleman, undeterred, drove to a hospital where Singletary was pronounced dead. Investigating the incident, police charged Coleman with second-degree murder and armed robbery.

Commentary on social media reflected divided opinions. While some supported Ornduff’s actions as self-defense, others speculated about the criminals’ motives. One Facebook user praised Ornduff, asserting that she did what was necessary. Another predicted the defense’s attempts to justify the crime.

The incident raises questions about self-defense and the consequences of criminal actions, prompting public debate on the matter.
