Teacher sits on Santa’s lap not knowing it’s actually her soldier son

Kim Harris, a math teacher at Prairie Heights High School, had one wish for the holidays – to have her son, Army Spc. Ethan Harris, deployed in Afghanistan, home with her. The school had a Christmas lottery during their breakfast, where the winner could ask Santa for a wish. Kim hoped to win, but the surprise was already set. Superintendent Alan Middleton called her name, and Santa appeared.

On Santa’s lap, Kim selflessly wished for “Peace on earth, goodwill to men.” Santa, probing further, asked about her best gift that year. Overwhelmed, she shared that it was knowing Ethan was back from Afghanistan. Then, in a touching reveal, Santa exposed himself as Ethan in disguise. He had hidden for days to make the surprise possible. Kim’s joyous hug reflected the true gift – reuniting with her son for the holidays. The video captures this tear-jerking and heartwarming surprise.
