It’s Being Called The Worst National Anthem Ever, And Now It’s Going Viral

With over 21 million monthly Spotify listeners, pop sensation Conan Gray faced a barrage of criticism for his rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Home Run Derby in Los Angeles. Baseball fans labeled it “impossibly bad,” making it possibly the worst in American history.

Twitter erupted with mockery, with one user suggesting a Congressional inquiry into the anthem singer selection. Another claimed, “There are so many great singers in this country; it’s nearly impossible to have that bad of a national anthem.” Some compared Gray’s performance to Fergie’s infamous 2018 NBA All-Star rendition, with one user noting, “Bro, I think Conan Gray is tone deaf. That national anthem was as bad as Fergie’s.”

Despite the backlash, Gray’s loyal fans defended him online. One supporter urged critics to explore his other performances, emphasizing that the anthem mishap doesn’t define his singing prowess.
