Rescue takes in severely matted dog who looks like a wig — today she’s unrecognizable

Neglected and covered in thick, tangled fur, a stray dog, now named Pear, underwent a remarkable transformation thanks to Missouri-based nonprofit Mac’s Mission. Rescued from the middle of a road, Pear’s matted fur made her unrecognizable as a dog. The rescue described her as resembling a wig, a mere “wad of hair.” Rochelle Steffen, the founder, shared Pear’s progress, stating, “

We got her cleaned up, shaved down, and a bath to get rid of any grime and fleas.” Despite the challenging process, Pear remained patient and sweet.

Mac’s Mission highlighted Pear’s incredible before-and-after photos, showcasing her newfound beauty. Rochelle expressed gratitude to supporters, stating, “Pear has a new life ahead of her thanks to you all.” This heartwarming makeover not only rescued Pear from distress but also unveiled a stunning canine transformation.
