MILLIONAIRE BUILDS NEARLY 100 HOMES TO REDUCE HOMELESSNESS IN HIS TOWN

In Fredericton, New Brunswick, Marcel LeBrun, a local millionaire and founder of a social media monitoring company, invested $4 million to combat homelessness. His project, 12 Neighbours, aims to build a gated community with 99 fully-furnished tiny homes and an enterprise center, offering both shelter and job opportunities. Recognizing the homelessness issue in his hometown, LeBrun envisions creating a supportive environment for residents.

The initiative faced criticism for sequestering homeless individuals, but LeBrun emphasizes the need to make a meaningful difference. He believes homeownership provides stability and responsibility, empowering those who’ve experienced homelessness. The community features an enterprise center with a coffee bar and silk printing business, generating income and fostering interaction.

Despite challenges, LeBrun implements advanced security measures in the community, ensuring a safe and protected space. His vision extends beyond constructing homes, aiming to build a supportive community and improve the lives of those facing homelessness.
