One of the smallest babies in the world was born!

**Premature Baby’s Struggle: A Tiny Fighter Born at 24 Weeks**

In a remarkable feat at Botoşani Maternity Hospital, a baby boy weighing a mere 720 grams entered the world after only 24 weeks of pregnancy. Described as extremely premature, the infant was so small that one hand equaled the thickness of an adult’s finger.

The delicate newborn, stabilized on-site, faced a challenging journey as specialists orchestrated a transfer to a higher-ranking maternity hospital. Transported by ambulance, the baby boy was entrusted into the care of vigilant neonatologists.

Doctors emphasized the concerning trend of pregnant women seeking medical attention only during childbirth, heightening the risks of troubled births and premature deliveries. Reflecting this challenge, the hospital’s record featured a baby born at a mere 580 grams.

This awe-inspiring struggle mirrors extremes, as the heaviest baby in the hospital’s history, born in July 2008, weighed just over 6 kilograms.
