Twin toddlers drown after grandmother with Alzheimer’s leaves door open – rest in peace

Tragedy struck an Oklahoma City family when twin toddlers, Locklyn and Loreli, drowned in their home pool. The siblings wandered outside through a door allegedly left open by their great-grandmother with Alzheimer’s. Discovered by their mother, Jenny Callazzo, the children were unconscious and, despite efforts, pronounced dead later.

Aerial views revealed a pool with murky, algae-filled water. Days before, Jenny posted a photo of the twins playing outside with the caption, “just want to play outside.”

Investigations rule out foul play, emphasizing the danger of pools for young kids. Laura Gamino, an injury prevention coordinator, warns of the silent nature of drowning. A GoFundMe has been set up by the family for expenses, emphasizing the need for protective measures like 4-foot-high pool fences. The community shares condolences for the grieving family.
