In a Texas suburb, a homeowner faces criticism for painting his house Pepto-Bismol pink, sparking concerns among neighbors.
Emilio Rodriguez, a resident of Pflugerville, chose his home for its lack of a Homeowners Association (HOA), enabling him to freely paint it his favorite color. Formerly beige, the house now flaunts a vibrant pink hue, a source of discontent among neighbors.
Emilio, wheelchair-bound due to health issues, defends his choice, expressing joy and asserting that the pink color contributes to the unique “Keep Austin Weird” atmosphere. Despite his contentment, neighbors fear the unconventional color may depreciate property values in the area.
“I love this house. I don’t know why people don’t like it,” Emilio says. Undeterred, he plans to extend the pink transformation to other parts of his residence.
