Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste as needed
  • 4 cups frozen peas, thawed
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, cubed small

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayo, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt until well combined. This creates the dressing for your pea salad.
  2. Add the thawed peas, crumbled bacon, diced red onion, and cubed cheddar cheese to the bowl with the dressing.
  3. Gently stir the ingredients together, making sure that everything is evenly coated in the creamy dressing.
  4. Chill the salad in the refrigerator until it’s ready to be served. It’s recommended to chill for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to cool.
  5. Before serving, you can garnish the pea salad with more crispy bacon if desired. This adds an extra layer of flavor and texture.
  6. Enjoy your delicious and nostalgic Pea Salad!

This salad is not only quick and easy to make but also brings a wonderful combination of creamy, sweet, salty, and sharp flavors. It’s a perfect side dish for picnics, potlucks, or any family gathering.
