Tried to explain to my kids what our fridge looked like in the 50’s.

In the 1950s, our family fridge was a mystery with its peculiar organization, prompting the constant question, “Where did Mom hide the meat?” Reflecting on this era, I recall Dad’s regular trips to the butcher, Mom armed with a fan, bucket, and ice pick for freezer maintenance. In those days, keeping the freezer in top shape required effort. As I share this with my kids, I vividly portray the spectacle, embodying an era where such chores were part of daily life. Nostalgia fills me as I remember the unique charm of those times. Explaining the past becomes a journey into our family history, a time when maintaining a refrigerator meant more than just turning a dial.
