Five NFL Teams Will Fire Players “On The Spot” If They Kneel For The Anthemn

Five NFL teams, including the St. Louis Rams, have instituted a “no kneeling” rule for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The league freed teams from 1st Amendment obligations, citing their status as private workplaces. St. Louis Rams General Manager Joe Barron explained, “We are allowed to police our own locker room and make our own rules.” Over a dozen players expressing intent to kneel have been waived. Barron noted a decline in such protests but emphasized lingering concerns. Joining the Rams are the former Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts, Houston Oilers, and Oakland Raiders, with more expected. Barron hinted at the Chicago Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers following suit. Speculation includes Jacksonville moving to London, adding an extra layer of complexity to the situation.
