Soldier mom returns to surprise daughter at a Wisconsin football game

In the challenging life of military personnel, where separation and danger are constants, U.S. Army Reserve Captain Jane Renee Jr. Lund experienced a heartwarming reunion with her 13-year-old daughter Bella at Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin. Captain Lund, deployed in Southern Afghanistan for six months, hadn’t seen Bella since April. With special permission, she surprised Bella at a football game, creating a magical moment.

Captain Lund, a Wisconsin native, shared, “I wanted to run over to her, but I wanted it to be special for her.” The stadium announcer highlighted Bella’s avid support for the Badgers and Captain Lund’s military service. The Wisconsin Badgers’ mascot helped Bella wave to the crowd, building anticipation. When mother and daughter finally embraced, the emotional reunion unfolded, leaving an indelible memory in front of 80,000 spectators.
