On my 32nd birthday, a mysterious box arrived at my door, sent by my husband’s mistress. What I found inside left me in disbelief and turned my world upside down.
The day started perfectly with my husband, Dexter, whispering, “Happy birthday, beautiful.” Our son, Dave, added to the joy with his excitement for the party. We spent the day preparing and enjoying the company of our closest friends and family.
During the party, my phone buzzed with a call from an unknown number. “Mrs. Fog? I have a parcel for you. The sender requested you collect it alone.” Curious and confused, I retrieved the box, believing it might be Dexter’s surprise.
Upon opening it, I was shocked to find my stolen jewelry and a note: “FROM YOUR HUSBAND’S LOVER!” The note revealed Dexter’s affair and instructed me to meet her at an address. My world crumbled as I realized the implications.
Driving to the address, an old abandoned house, I was filled with dread. But when I arrived and entered, the lights suddenly turned on, and voices shouted, “WE PLAYED YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” It was all a prank orchestrated by Dexter and our friends.
