Inside the House’s Fiercest Races: Who’s Leading the Charge

Control of the House of Representatives is anticipated to depend on 43 highly competitive races, according to the latest ratings from the Cook Political Report. For Republicans to retain their majority, they would need to win at least 10 of the 22 seats currently labeled as toss-ups. This outcome would also rely on them holding onto seats categorized as Likely or Lean Republican.

Republicans already have incumbents in 12 of these toss-up seats, potentially giving them a slight advantage if they can maintain these positions. With this combination of seats in play, the outcome of these close races will be crucial in determining which party ultimately controls the House.
