The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is reportedly upset about Donald Trump’s recent win over Kamala Harris in the U.S. presidential election. Meghan had strongly hoped for Harris’s victory. According to royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths, “Meghan will be very angry that Trump is president of the United States.” This anger stems from her longstanding dislike of Trump, whom she previously called “sexist” on live TV.
Following the election, some speculate Meghan may consider leaving the U.S. Griffiths noted, “Because of this, she might think about leaving America.” Meghan and Prince Harry, who were vocal about their political opinions in the past, chose a more reserved approach this time, encouraging voter turnout without endorsing any candidates.
Trump has also been critical of the Sussexes, especially in response to Prince Harry’s memoir, *Spare*, which revealed Harry’s past drug use. When asked if Harry would receive “special privileges” under Trump’s administration, Trump replied, “No… he would be on his own.”
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams commented that although Harry’s public disclosures were “extremely foolish,” Trump likely wouldn’t act against him. Fitzwilliams added that despite ongoing rumors, Meghan shows no signs of entering politics.
