Miranda Lambert Stops Another Concert and Finally Responds to the ‘Selfie Backlash’

Miranda Lambert faced backlash after publicly reprimanding a fan for taking a selfie during her Vegas residency show. During her performance of *Tin Man*, Lambert stopped and called out the fan, saying, “I’m a little annoyed that these females are preoccupied with their selfie and aren’t listening to the song… I’m performing some damn country music.” The fan reportedly put her phone away as Lambert resumed singing.

The incident divided opinions. While some fans cheered Lambert for prioritizing the live music experience, others criticized her for shaming a paying fan. One Twitter user remarked, “She could have made fun of them, posed for the selfie, and then urged them to live in the moment. Not cool.” Another added, “The goal of attending a concert is to make memories. Anyone should be able to take a picture.”

The targeted fan, Adela Calin, later shared the photo online and expressed dismay at Lambert’s actions. “It felt like I was back at school… reprimanded for doing something wrong,” she said, adding that the picture took “30 seconds at most.”

Further fueling the controversy, Lambert later spotlighted a fan wearing a shirt that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies,” telling the crowd, “I didn’t do it; she did!” Critics saw this as “adding salt to the wound.”

Lambert remains unapologetic, sparking ongoing debate about concert etiquette.
