A mysterious ship, missing for nine years, was discovered last Thursday on a beach in Thongwa, Burma. Local police announced the find on social media, describing the vessel as a “large rusty ship” with no cargo or crew on board.

The ship was identified as the *Sam Ratulangi PB 1600*, a cargo vessel from Indonesia. It vanished in 2009 after its crew abandoned it due to engine failure. The ship had remained untraceable since.

Authorities found that a tugboat, the *Independence*, had been towing the abandoned vessel before it broke free during rough seas. The *Independence* was tracked down, and its captain confirmed the story.
