Woman Calls Out ‘Deeply Offensive’

Target recently faced backlash after shopper Reign Murphy criticized a holiday sweater that read, “OCD: Obsessive Christmas Disorder.” Murphy took to Twitter, calling the slogan dismissive of those with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, a serious mental health condition.

Public reaction was split—many agreed the sweater was insensitive, while others, including some with OCD, viewed it as lighthearted humor. Target’s representative, Jessica Carlson, apologized for any offense caused but confirmed the sweater would remain available, explaining it was intended as a playful holiday item.

This debate underscores the tension between humor and sensitivity, as consumers continue to weigh in on what crosses the line.
