Chris King, 32, a rapper and friend of Justin Bieber, was tragically shot in a Nashville alley. Police reported that King and two friends were approached by three unknown men. “The (surviving) 29-year-old victim reported the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rob his group of friends,” said the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Gunfire broke out, leaving King fatally injured. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Justin Bieber mourned King in an emotional Instagram story, writing, “Love you, bro. This one hurts. See you in paradise, brother.” King and Bieber had shared a home nearly a decade ago, a period King fondly remembered in a December 2023 post: “Glad some people never change no matter what. All love, forever extended family.”
King’s close friend and frequent collaborator Trippie Redd credited him for his career breakthroughs: “I would not be where I am today without @whoischrisking…he had the best energy always.” Actor Keke Palmer also expressed her grief, recalling fond memories: “I can’t believe I’m saying rest in peace. This is terrible.”
Known for his collaborations with Trippie Redd, King’s influence resonated deeply in the industry, leaving behind a legacy of talent and love among his peers.
Our condolences go out to King’s family, Justin Bieber, and all who knew him.
