Mom wants daughter with rare birthmark to know she’s beautiful

“All of us are born uniquely special and irrefutably beautiful in our own way.” This belief drives Nicole Lucas Hallson, a mother raising two children, Asher and Winry. Beyond her role as a mom, Nicole is on a mission to prove that perfection lies in imperfection and to celebrate her daughter’s rare beauty.

Winry Hall, born in February 2021, has a rare birthmark called congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN), covering a fourth of her face. Nicole recalls her confusion during delivery: “It was quickly apparent to my husband and me that it wasn’t a bruise… I thought it looked like a mole.” Despite initial worry, she embraced her baby with love and later learned CMN is harmless but can pose risks like melanoma.

Determined to highlight Winry’s uniqueness, Nicole shares her story to encourage acceptance. “For a lot of people, this is the first time seeing a birthmark like hers,” she says. “It’s a good conversation for parents to teach their children about differences.”

Winry’s parents prioritize her health with dermatology visits and sun protection while preparing for possible challenges like bullying. Yet, Winry thrives as a joyful, spirited toddler. “She just radiates joy,” Nicole says. “She’s the happiest baby I have ever seen.”

Let’s celebrate Winry’s beauty and uniqueness, reminding the world that differences make us special. Share her story to spread love and confidence!
