Mel Gibson proposed a ‘crazy’ conspiracy theory about the LA wildfires after his home was destroyed, which left many baffled

Actor Mel Gibson shared a controversial theory about the LA wildfires, leaving many puzzled. The Mad Max star, who lost his £12 million Malibu home, speculated about the fires’ origins during an interview on The Ingraham Angle.

“I can make all kinds of horrible theories up in my head – conspiracy theories and everything else,” he said, adding that it seemed “a little convenient that there was no water, and the wind conditions were right.” He questioned whether the fires were “commissioned” to clear homes off valuable land.

Following reports of a suspect’s arrest, Gibson wondered if the individual acted alone or under orders. “California has a lot of problems… one begins to ponder whether or not there is a purpose in mind. What could it be? The state empty?” he speculated.

Gibson likened the situation to “old cattle barons clearing people off the land.” Ingraham echoed his concerns, mentioning rumors about high-density housing in affected areas.

His comments sparked backlash online. “Conspiracy theories are his last claims to fame,” a Twitter user wrote, while others called his remarks “shameful.” Critics accused him of stirring controversy while Californians fought the fires.

Gibson’s claims, while provocative, added fuel to debates about the true causes and management of the devastating wildfires. What do you think?
