Trump’s Border Czar Promises Mass Arrests ‘Without Apology’ After Taking Office

Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, promised immediate mass deportations following his inauguration. In a Fox News interview, Homan stated that ICE would be empowered to enforce immigration laws without apology, starting with large-scale operations. He revealed that around 200 officers would be deployed to Chicago for a deportation effort, with ICE operating nationwide. Homan emphasized that ICE would target criminal aliens and arrest those with criminal convictions, including the 1.4 million people ordered to be deported by a judge. He noted that past enforcement was hindered in sanctuary cities, but now ICE would go after individuals in communities, potentially resulting in collateral arrests. Homan reiterated that ICE would be freed from restrictions to do its job effectively.
