Man Reveals Chilling Last Text From Wife On American Airlines Flight 5342 Moments Before It Crashed

The tragic final text from a passenger’s wife has been revealed after an American Airlines flight crashed over Washington, DC. The aircraft, carrying 60 passengers and four crew, collided with a US Army helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 PM. The helicopter had three soldiers onboard.

Shocking CCTV footage captured the fireball as both aircraft fell into the Potomac River. Rescue efforts face challenges due to wind and ice. “The challenge is access, there is wind, pieces of ice… It is dangerous and hard to work in,” said Fire Chief John Donnelly. About 300 rescuers are searching for survivors.

Passenger Hamaad Raza shared the last text from his wife: “She texted me that they were landing in 20 minutes.” After that, his messages went undelivered. “I’m just praying someone is pulling her out of the river right now,” he told WUSA9.

American Airlines confirmed the accident, stating, “Our concern is for the passengers and crew.” Families can call 800-679-8215 for information.

President Trump, briefed on the tragedy, said, “May God Bless their souls,” and praised first responders’ efforts.
