The tragic plane crash in Philadelphia on January 31 claimed six lives, including 11-year-old Valentina Guzman Murillo and her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna. The Learjet 55, a medical transport aircraft, crashed into a residential neighborhood shortly after takeoff. Valentina, who had just undergone life-saving treatment, was returning home. A hospital spokesperson called the loss “devastating.”
The victims also included Captain Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales, Copilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo, and paramedic Rodrigo Lopez Padilla. The flight, meant to ensure Valentina’s safe return, ended in catastrophe.
A bystander was killed when the jet struck his car, and 22 others were injured, including three critically. The crash caused significant destruction, damaging 11 homes. Authorities urged residents to report missing loved ones.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash as the community mourns.
