I Lost It When I Saw My Fiance’s Christmas Gift to Me after I Bought Him a PS5

A woman left her fiancé’s family Christmas celebration early after receiving an insulting gift. She had saved for months to buy him a PS5, but he gave her a pack of toothpicks as part of a prank suggested by his younger sister.

Despite previously sharing her gift preferences, she was shocked and humiliated. When she confronted him, he blamed his sister, but she felt disrespected and yelled at him as his family watched.

Upset, she spent the rest of Christmas at her mom’s house. Her future mother-in-law accused her of ruining the mood. Reddit users defended her, with one saying, “I would have left too. He just showed you that he doesn’t respect you and neither does his family.”

The next day, her fiancé apologized and gave her the real gift, but she remained unconvinced. Many Reddit users reassured her that her reaction was justified.
