My Girlfriend Expected Me to Cover Her Friend’s Expensive Birthday Dinner—So I Gave Her a Valuable Lesson”

It started innocently when Lisa invited me to a “casual” dinner for her friend’s birthday. But when we arrived, I realized it was anything but casual—an extravagant meal with a table full of strangers.

When the bill came, I was ready to pay for us, but Lisa asked, “You’re paying for everyone, right?” Stunned, I replied, “No, I’m paying for us.” She insisted, “You’re a man. You should pay for everyone.”

At that moment, I saw she didn’t value me, only what I could provide. The ride home was silent, and as we reached my place, she coldly said, “We’re done.”

Later, she called with an ultimatum—pay her rent for three months to prove I was serious. That was the final straw.

I ended things, realizing love isn’t a financial contract. I walked away, knowing I deserved respect, not demands.
