Trump has revoked Joe Biden’s access to classified intelligence, a privilege all former presidents have received. Trump stated on Truth Social, “There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information,” adding, “JOE, YOU’RE FIRED,” referencing his famous catchphrase.
Trump’s decision follows his claim that Biden first denied him intelligence briefings in 2021, breaking presidential tradition. He argued, “Biden set this precedent when he asked the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security.”
Trump also cited Biden’s alleged memory issues, referencing the Hur Report, which described the president’s memory as “poor.” He wrote, “Even in his ‘prime,’ [Biden] could not be trusted with sensitive information.”
Biden previously defended blocking Trump’s access, citing his “erratic behavior” and questioning the value of briefing him, saying, “What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”
Trump has also revoked security clearances for numerous former intelligence officials, including military leader Mark Milley and medical adviser Anthony Fauci. He insisted this was “very standard” practice.
