Authorities reported a small plane crashed near the 3,000-foot summit of Equinox Mountain in Vermont early Wednesday. The Piper PA-28, carrying three people, went down around 3:50 a.m., according to the FAA.
Assistant Chief Jamie Greene said, *“Heavy snow cushioned the impact but made rescue efforts challenging,”* with workers navigating up to four feet of snow.
At 8:33 a.m., the pilot called 911, stating all three passengers survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
The reason for the five-hour delay in contacting authorities remains unknown.
