Jennifer Aniston grew up in destabilized home

Jennifer Aniston on Overcoming a Painful Past

Despite her success, Jennifer Aniston had a challenging childhood, particularly with her late mother, Nancy Dow. “She was critical… very critical of me,” Aniston revealed. “She had a temper. I can’t tolerate that.”

After her parents’ divorce, Aniston found her childhood home “was not a fun house to live in.” She also faced bullying, recalling, “I was one of the kids who got sort of bullied.”

Reflecting on her past, she says, “You can either be angry or… say, ‘You’ve got lemons? Let’s make lemonade.’”
