Democratic Lawmakers Wore Pink to Donald Trump’s First Congress Address: Here’s Why

Democratic lawmakers wore pink at Donald Trump’s joint session of Congress on March 4 to protest his policies. The Democratic Women’s Caucus used pink to symbolize “power and protest,” opposing Trump’s agenda affecting women and families.

Representative Teresa Leger Fernández stated pink represents their fight against rising living costs, healthcare threats, and women’s safety concerns. She described Trump’s policies as a “nightmare” for American women.

The protest also included Al Green, who was escorted out after interrupting Trump to oppose Medicaid cuts.

The pink outfits served as a visual stand against policies harming families, reaffirming the caucus’s dedication to women’s rights.
