The Trump administration has dismissed immigration judges that President Biden attempted to appoint at the last minute.

The Trump administration has removed 20 last-minute immigration judges appointed by Biden in his final days, The Washington Times reports. This includes 13 judges appointed in late December and early January, along with seven assistant chief immigration judges, all dismissed on Friday, according to a Justice Department source.

This move mirrors Biden’s actions in 2021 when his administration removed Trump-appointed judges upon taking office. One of those dismissed was Kerry Doyle, a former critic of ICE who later became its principal legal adviser.

The Justice Department has not publicly commented on the dismissals, but sources indicate they are part of a broader effort to reverse late-term judicial appointments.

Both administrations have used similar tactics to reshape immigration policy through judicial appointments, highlighting ongoing political battles over immigration enforcement.
