Ace Patton Ashford, an 18-year-old rodeo roper, tragically passed away on August 12 after a freak accident near Chilton, Texas. While helping a sick cow, Ashford’s leg got caught, causing him to be dragged by a frightened horse across an open field.
According to authorities, Ashford was found with severe head injuries but was alive when first responders arrived. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“Ace was doing what he loved,” said a family friend. His passion for rodeo and ranch life was well known in his community.
