Multiple people injured as plane crashes in suburban Pennsylvania

Emergency services rushed to Manheim Township in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after a small plane crashed into a parking lot, injuring several people. According to the *Daily Mail*, the plane “erupted in flames” after hitting parked cars, causing nearby vehicles to catch fire between Fairview Drive and Meadowview Court.

The aircraft, believed to be a Beechcraft A36TC, had taken off on Sunday afternoon but soon requested an emergency landing due to “an open door.” As *Mirror* reported, audio from air traffic control captured the pilot saying the wind from the open hatch made the radio “inaudible.” An air traffic controller responded, “Pull up… the aircraft is down just behind the terminal in the parking lot tree area.”

Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed on X that “PA State Police is on the ground assisting local first responders following the small private plane crash near Lancaster Airport.” He added that all state resources are available as the response continues.

Reports indicate multiple passengers suffered burns. According to AP, five people were on board at the time of the crash.

This incident follows several other tragic plane crashes in recent months, including a deadly January crash where 67 people died after a collision involving an American Airlines plane and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter.
