US woman got boyfriend to film her kidnapping baby wombat from its mum

US Influencer Faces Deportation Over Baby Wombat Incident

US influencer Sam Jones may be kicked out of Australia after sparking outrage by snatching a baby wombat from its mother. In a now-deleted video, Jones is seen grabbing the joey while its distressed mother chases her. “I caught a baby wombat,” she says, as the joey screeches.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the act as “an outrage,” suggesting, “Maybe she might try some other Australian animals. Take a baby crocodile… and see how you go there.”

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said Jones’s visa is under review, adding, “I can’t wait for Australia to see the back of this individual.”
