Melania Trump’s iconic wedding dress has appeared on eBay, shocking many. The Christian Dior gown by John Galliano, originally priced at $100,000, is listed for $45,000. Writer Liana Satenstein alerted her “Neverworns” Substack subscribers, noting the listing claims the dress was only worn twice—once by Melania and once by the seller.
The seller claims to have bought it from Melania in 2010 for $70,000. Despite its elaborate Swarovski crystal embellishments and a 13-foot train, it has been sitting unsold on eBay since January.
However, doubts about the dress’s authenticity have surfaced. A source told WWD that Melania still has her original gown at Mar-a-Lago. The seller also admitted to altering the dress, saying, “I had to have this dress made a little bigger” and added fabric layers.
Melania’s wedding, attended by A-listers including Bill and Hillary Clinton, took place in 2005, and her gown was famously featured on the cover of Vogue. The extravagant dress was crafted from 300 feet of white duchesse satin and heavily embroidered with crystals.
