The Father Of A Girl With Cancer Who Died In The American Airlines Disaster Shares A Text That Led Him To Believe Something Was Not Right

A father who lost his wife and daughter in the American Airlines crash shared the heartbreaking moment he realized something was wrong.
On January 29, a PSA Airlines plane collided mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington D.C., crashing into the Potomac River. “All 64 people on board the plane and 3 on the helicopter are believed to have died.”

Andy Beyer was waiting to pick up his wife, Justyna, and 12-year-old daughter, Brielle, after a figure skating event. When the plane failed to land and he couldn’t reach them, he feared the worst. An air traffic controller friend later confirmed the crash.
Beyer described Brielle, a cancer survivor and aspiring skater, as a “fighter who lived life to the fullest.”
A GoFundMe has been launched to support the grieving family.
