Serial killer fears rise as three dozen bodies are found in a lake

In the past three years, 38 bodies have been pulled from Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. While police say some died from drowning, suicide, or overdose, several deaths remain unsolved, fueling fears of a serial killer.

The most recent case involves a missing teen who vanished while kayaking. Police believe he accidentally drowned after slipping on an underwater shelf, but confirmation is pending from the medical examiner.

Despite public concern, Austin police insist there’s “no mass murderer on the loose.” However, similarities among the victims—mostly men aged 30 to 49—raise suspicions.

One survivor, Jeff Jones, visited Austin for a bachelor party and was later found in the lake with injuries and Rohypnol in his system. He told the *Daily Mail*, “It’s a very specific type of victim, which I fit. Nothing is stolen, they drown, and they disappear at night.”

With about half a dozen cases still unexplained, locals are calling for a more thorough investigation into the disturbing pattern surrounding the lake.
