A tragic Air India crash on June 12 killed 241 of the 242 passengers on board. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, made a mayday call shortly after takeoff. Moments later, the plane crashed into a residential area and exploded.
Authorities initially stated there were “likely no survivors.” However, it was later confirmed that one British man, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, made it out alive from seat 11A. “When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran,” Ramesh told Hindustan Times.
In a strange twist, Thai singer Ruangsak Loychusak—survivor of a 1998 Thai Airways crash—also sat in seat 11A during his flight. “The lone survivor of the plane crash in India was sitting in the same seat number as me, 11A,” he shared. “I got goosebumps.”
