Massive Fire Engulfs Dubai Skyscraper As Thousands Evacuate Amid Falling Debris

A major fire broke out at Dubai’s 67-story Marina Pinnacle around 9:30 p.m. Friday, forcing the evacuation of all 3,820 residents. “Ambulance teams and medical staff are on site to offer full medical and mental support,” confirmed the Dubai Media Office. The fire was extinguished early Saturday after six hours.

Residents faced terrifying moments as they fled. “We had to hold on to the shoulders of the person in front of us,” said Prateek M., who escaped with his wife and son. They descended 22 floors through thick smoke and are now staying at a hotel. “We are safe, and that’s what matters. But we hope to return home soon.”

Another resident, Raza, rushed back at 1 a.m. to find the roads blocked. “It was clear that I wouldn’t be able to go in,” he said. He helped others get to safety and is waiting to retrieve belongings.

Authorities have arranged temporary housing, but the cause of the fire remains unknown. Videos suggest it started on the upper floors. Dubai’s transport authority warned of delays near the scene and provided alternate bus services “to ensure passenger safety.”
