Two hours before a fatal crash that killed 241 people, a passenger shared alarming footage of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s poor condition. “I was in the same damn flight 2 hours before it took off from AMD,” wrote Akash Vasta, who had flown on the plane earlier that day. His video, now widely circulated, shows broken air conditioning, non-working TV screens, faulty lights, and unresponsive call buttons. “Nothing is working. Nothing!” he says, slamming Air India as “one of the worst airlines in the world.”
Though it’s unclear whether these issues caused the crash, the footage has sparked serious questions about the airline’s safety.
British passenger Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor, says he escaped just before the aircraft exploded. He had been seated in 11A.
Another video taken moments before the crash shows a strange object flying from the aircraft, possibly an emergency door near Ramesh’s seat, fueling further speculation.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the disaster, including the possibility of mechanical failure.
