Chilling simulation of Air India flight crash shows exactly how sole survivor escaped the wreckage

On June 12, a tragic Air India crash killed 270 people, including 241 passengers and crew, and eight on the ground. The sole survivor, 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh from Leicester, UK, escaped in what many call a miracle.

According to simulations, Ramesh either jumped out mid-descent or escaped moments after the crash through a broken emergency exit. He believes the second option happened: “I unbuckled myself and used my leg to push an opening,” he told reporters. “There were pieces of the plane all around me… Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance.”

Ramesh had been sitting in seat 11A, near a section of the aircraft that didn’t hit the building. His brother Ajay, also onboard, tragically did not survive.

“I saw people dying in front of my eyes… I still can’t believe how I survived. I walked out of the rubble,” he said.

Strangely, Thai singer Ruangsak Loychusak survived a 1998 crash — also from seat 11A. The coincidence has drawn global attention as investigations into the Air India crash continue.
