Warning issued over ‘scam’ Trump phone after man revealed what happened when he ordered one

The Trump family’s latest venture, the gold-colored *T1 Phone*, is branded as an all-American smartphone to rival Apple and Samsung. Priced at \$499 and paired with the \$47.45/month “Trump Mobile” plan, it promises to “deliver the highest levels of quality and service,” according to Donald Trump Jr.

But buyers like journalist Joseph Cox experienced chaos. “The website failed… and then charged my credit card the wrong amount of \$64.70,” he wrote. Even worse, Cox never entered a shipping address or paid the full \$499, yet got a vague confirmation email. Attempting to reset his account password also led to errors. “It is the worst experience I’ve ever faced buying a consumer electronic product,” he concluded.

Online reactions were swift. One Reddit user joked, “Got scammed by the president?” Others warned potential buyers to use credit cards for protection.

Despite the Trump Organization’s claims of U.S.-based operations, critics have questioned the phone’s actual manufacturing origin. Eric Trump admitted the phone will “eventually” be made in the U.S.

Security concerns also loom, with skeptics fearing potential surveillance—despite Donald Trump Jr. claiming the device lacks foreign “backdoors.”
