Thanks to better cancer screening, many people now survive longer after a diagnosis. While certain symptoms don’t always mean cancer, it’s smart to speak with your doctor if you notice any of the following:
**Unexplained Weight Loss**
Losing over 10 pounds without trying might seem harmless, but in rare cases, it could be a sign of cancer. “Contact your physician if you lose weight without cause.”
**Persistent Fatigue**
This isn’t normal tiredness after a busy day. Cancer-related fatigue can be caused by the disease stealing nutrients. If exhaustion doesn’t improve with rest, get it checked—especially if it’s “severe enough to interfere with your quality of life.”
**Unusual Fevers**
Fevers usually signal infection, but recurring ones—especially at night, without signs of infection—may be linked to cancer. Watch for “night sweats” and unexplained fevers.
**Chronic Pain**
Pain can result from many causes, but cancer may cause it by “a tumor pressing on other body parts” or by spreading. If pain lingers with no clear reason, see your doctor.
**Skin Changes**
Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice), or mole changes—like asymmetry, rough edges, or growth—can signal cancer. Don’t ignore these visible clues from your body.
